It
is possible to go by car as far as Achada do Teixeira and
from there the route is in good condition. It is an hour
to the Pousada do Pico Ruivo, walking for about 3 kms.
From here we walk for 6 kms through the mountains along a
stretch which is easy and well signposted.
One of the highlights of this walk is the arrival at Pico
das Torres where the panoramic view is breath-taking.
Further on we come to a fork which gives us the option of
visiting Pico do Arieiro. If we don’t opt for this we
continue until we come again to Pico Ruivo.
It is an easily accessible walk with spectacular views of
one of the most mountainous parts of Madeira.
