Perennial
shrub, ramified and densely scabrous, reaching 2 m in height.
Greyishwhite stems. Whitish-grey, subsessile, rough, lanceolate leaves, 4.5-12.5 x (0.6-)
1.2(-3.4) cm, with short hairs and prominent veins on lower surface. Dense
paniculate inflorescence, 5-16 cm, with pale blue flowers, more rarely
whitish. Funnel-shaped corolla, 6-11 mm, and b1ue 1obes with a white
midrib.
Common p1ant on coasta1 1ands and rocky slopes of Madeira, up to altitude of
300 m. It is more rare on Porto Santo and Desertas. |
