Isoplexis Sceptrum

Perennial shrub, reaching 4 m in height. Ramified stems. Large obovate-oblong leaves, 10-40 x 4-14 cm, acute, serrate, borne on the terminal branch zone; glabrescent above and scatteringly pubescent, with glands and paler tones beneath. Subsessile flowers borne in glandular-pubescent, dense, terminal racemes. Corolla 2-3.5 cm, yellowish-orange with purplish stripes, cylindrical-campanulate tube, and glandular-pubescent lobes.
Rare plant which inhabits ravines and rocky slopes of the Laurisilva, at altitudes of 600-1000 m.
