Argyranthemum Haematomma

Perennial shrub that is prostrate to ascending, woody, ramose, and glabrous, reaching 1.2 m in height. Rigid and succulent, obovate to ovate leaves, 2-7 x 1-3 cm, 1 to 2-pinnatisect, with 2-6 primary lobes, and dentate, alternate and acuminate secondary lobes. Corymb inflorescence of 1 or 3-4 heads. Reddish-purple disk flowers, yellow after anthesis. Pinkish to whitish ligules. Involucre 1.5-2 cm in diameter.
Very rare species which inhabits moist, rocky slopes on North-western coast of Madeira, from altitudes of 50 m to 450 m. Also inhabits Bugio and Deserta Grande islands.
