Armeria Maderensis

Small herbaceous perennial, which forms tufts. Linear, acute, glabrous or glabrescent leaves, 7-12.5 x 0.2-0.7 cm, with 3-5 parallel veins. Numerous pinkish flowers, borne in dense, spherical heads, 2-3 cm in width. Cylindrical scapes, 25-45 cm in length, glabrous or pubescent at the base.
Rare species which inhabits exposed rocky areas at highest altitudes in mountainous central region of Madeira.
